The Laguna Seca circuit in California is the venue for this weekend´s MotoGP race, the ninth of the season. The two Repsol Honda Team riders will undoubtedly be in the thick of it this weekend as they race at one of the most legendary tracks in the World Championship. Dani Pedrosa will be out to string together two consecutive wins and is dying to carry off the victory at a circuit where he won last year.
As Dani wrote on his blog earlier this week there was not too much time for celebrations after last weekend`s victory in the German GP. The World Championship carries on this weekend and the track of Laguna Seca in California is waiting for the riders. This will be the last race before the summer break - racing will return on 15th August with the Czech Republic GP.
Dani is eager to repeat the success he had last year at the American circuit, he got a hard-earned win ahead of Jorge Lorenzo and Valentino Rossi. Another victory this weekend, the Spanish rider`s second in a row after the victory at the Sachsenring in Germany last weekend, would blow the title fight wide open. Andrea Dovizioso on the other hand will try to put the fall he had last year at this circuit behind him.
Speaking of the Laguna Seca circuit is to speak of one of the most spectacular settings in the World Championship calendar. Corner number 8, called the “Corkscrew”, is the best-known chicane in MotoGP, one that drops sharply and one that has produced some of the most spectacular moments in the history of this sport.
