Dani Pedrosa has set his sights on the top step of the podium in Montmeló, a charismatic race in which the rider wants to once again bring some joy to his fans, as he did in Jerez, where he came in first. To do this, the Spanish rider will be backed by fans at the Catalonian circuit, who will fill the grandstands, which could beat a new attendance record.

The Repsol rider says that he looks on the race in Catalonia with the excitement that racing in his home country and in front of his home crowd means. “This is a great weekend because I am riding in front of my home crowd, near where I grew up, and I really feel and appreciate the fans' support.” The best way to thank them is, without a doubt, with a win and Pedrosa says that he will do everything possible to achieve this, on a circuit that he loves.

The warmth of the fans is essential in Montmeló, that’s how both the rider and team see it. Jordi Prades, Pedrosa’s mechanic, has asked for the fans’ support from the Repsol team’s mechanics blog. “We need all your support to win the world championship,” he says. The grandstands spur the riders on more than you can believe and Prades says that in Mugello I could “see, hear and feel the crowd pushing Rossi.”

Catalonia is Pedrosa’s home and it is essential to make the most of the ‘advantage factor’. That is what Valentino Rossi did in Mugello, a circuit where the warmth of his home crowd accompanied him to the finish line. But this is something that Dani Pedrosa is not bad at, as he has won the last two races held in Spain: Jerez and Cheste. This weekend, with the Montmeló grandstands set to beat attendance records, the ‘fans-Pedrosa’ binominal could achieve a new success: his third consecutive Spanish GP win.
