The World Championship has its second date of the season in Jerez de la Frontera where the Spanish GP is held, a race marked by an incredible atmosphere off the track where fans of this sport have great fun. The fact is that after an exciting start to the season a great spectacle is assured at one of the most fanatical circuits in the calendar.
The track in the south of Spain will without a doubt witness an interesting duel between the best riders in the world. This is not a circuit that has been kind to the current leader of the top category and reigning World Champion, Casey Stoner, in the past and he will have to test himself against three rivals, if not more, who know what it is like to win here: Dani Pedrosa, Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo.
Of these, the Repsol Honda rider will start as the Australian`s biggest rival. Pedrosa is totally recovered from the injury he picked up during the pre-season and in spite of some technical problems and having trained less than the rest of the riders on the grid he amazed everybody with his start and the race he put in in Qatar. What is more he knows the track in Jerez perfectly, it is one of his “favourite circuits”.
The Spanish GP is a return to normality after the exotic and atypical curtain raiser in Qatar. The teams have had three weeks to find answers to the problems encountered in the first race and to improve their machines. Jerez should be where those that want to be in the title fight stand out from the crowd. Nevertheless, the track is not an easy one: it is very technical and obliges the riders to use their brakes intelligently, and it is diffícult to take advantage of all the power that the bikes produce
