The World MotoGP Championship is on the home straight, there are four races and this weekend there is the Japanese GP. A date that the Repsol Honda Team will tackle with high hopes, the team`s two riders have their sights on podium finishes at the circuit of Motegi, Honda`s home track. Dani Pedrosa is very optimistic about the next race, whilst Nicky Hayden wants to get back on the podium after his visit there at Indianapolis.

Motegi belongs to Honda, it was constructed as a testing ground for its cars and bikes. The installations are home to a museum and this exhibits racing cars and competition bikes from every era all year round. Motegi is also home to Bridgestone, and so Dani Pedrosa goes to the race in Japan with a desire to offer the two companies “a great result”, and he says so on his blog.

However, the Spanish rider does not think that this will put more pressure on him than usual. “I suppose that both Bridgestone and above all Honda will want me to put in a good performance, but I would not speak about pressure. The truth is that the pressure is provided by myself: it is me who wants a good result” he writes. And this is one of the Repsol rider`s favourite circuits, in fact he won here in 250cc back in 2004. Now, with more experience on the bike and with the new tyres, Pedrosa is only thinking about winning here again.

On the other hand, his teammate Nicky Hayden wants to take advanatage of the good form he found at Indianapolis and get back on the podium again. The American wants to fnish the season on a high and get another success for his team. “I owe this to Honda as it has played a big part in my career” he says. Hayden was on the podium in Japan back in 2003 when he got his first ever podium in MotoGP, finishing third.
