Dovizioso, satisfied with his new team
Next week the Italian rider will get another chance to ride his new official Honda motorbike at the practice sessions scheduled at the circuit in Jerez, Spain. Dovizioso is very pleased with this new challenge and he is very satisfied with how things are going in his new team. The Repsol team`s latest signing is already planning the forthcoming season.
Dovizioso says that his overriding objective will be to “fight to be on the podium in every race” and to put in consistent performances throughout the whole season on his new official Honda motorbike. The Italian rider has also stated that he feels very positive about his latest challenge as well as very ambitious after just two days of practice.
One day after the end of the 2008 season the rider had his first two practice sessions with the Repsol Honda Team. The two days were a chance for him to get to know his new machine and his new colleagues in the pits and little else because of the rain. The first thing Dovizioso did was to adjust the settings on his bike so it was right for his build, as well as adding his personal preferences. He then rode for the first time ever on Bridgestone tyres.
“This was a special day for me” said the Italian, who saw one of his dreams come true, that of riding an official Honda. One day later, after riding in the rain, Dovizioso said that he was “very pleased with the working methods” used by his new team. “I am learning a lot every time I get on the new bike, and I am really pleased with this new challenge” he adds. Next week the Repsol rider will have another chance to carry on learning and to prepare for 2009.
