The race at Laguna Seca brought an end to the first half of the World MotoGP Championship. After the American GP the MotoGP riders will be able to enjoy a short break in the competition before tackling the final run in to the end of the season. The next race will be on 15 August in Brno, but before that the teams in the top category of racing will get a little over two weeks rest.
Far from relaxing this short summer break will be used by the riders to stay in form and recharge their batteries for the second half of the championship: nine GP races in just two and a half months.
Moreover the riders will take advantage of this time to fulfill some of the obligations thay signed up to in their contracts. This is the case of Dani Pedrosa who is to be found in Indonesia working with Honda. The Repsol rider has explained that he has been in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur before but “had never really had time to visit Indonesia until now”.
This short break in racing is a little longer for the smaller bike categories as the riders in Moto2 and 125cc have been on holiday since the German GP, as they did not go to race in the USA last weekend.
Forthcoming races:
15 August: Czech Republic GP (Brno)
29 August: Indianapolis GP (Indianápolis)
5 September: San Marino GP (Misano)
19 September: Aragón GP (Motorland Aragón)
3 October: Japanese GP (Motegi)
