Large groups and good food, an achievable duo
cena

Presentations including lunch, family get-togethers and business lunches with more participants than expected, are occasions that require venues suitable for large groups. If, in addition, good food is an essential requirement, it is not always easy to find prestigious restaurants with large private dining rooms. However, it is not impossible.

When the need to organise a meal for a large number of people arises, it is common to look at hotels and hire one of their dining rooms. Depending on the clients requirements, a service for large groups can be offered without any problems.

However, the total cost can sometimes be excessively high, as in addition to the cost of the food, that of hiring the venue must also be considered. Moreover, the food offered by hotels is sometimes not that requested by the client.

There is no doubt that organising events for more than twenty people can be complicated, especially if you intend to offer the diners a menu for demanding palates, but there are places which have large areas which can be extended or reduced depending on requirements and where a professional service offers good quality food. You just need to firm up the arrangements in advance, so as to be able to organise the lunch down to the last detail.

Catalonian farms
Barcelona has the La Dama restaurant, an Art Deco building and restaurant, one of the citys classics. At this restaurant you can enjoy menus starting at 60¬, where the impeccable service not only offers refined Catalonian cuisine but also French dishes, amongst which we can highlight sea urchins in cava and lobster au gratin. It has a seasonal menu and personalised menus for groups of up to 50 diners.

Also located in Barcelona is one of the best restaurants in the entire city, the Can Travi Nou, an old eighteenth century building surrounded by plants. It has several dining rooms with different capacities, and private rooms for company meetings and family get-togethers. The food is excellent, with generous portions and elegantly presented dishes. The menu is also very well prepared, allowing you to choose between different prices, and the wine cellar is well stocked, with excellent quality wines. Furthermore, they speak several languages. Another option is to go to Masía Juliá, which has large dining rooms, all set inside a typical rustically decorated Catalonian farm with facilities to allow companies to carry out audiovisual presentations.

The Anglona palace is a historical building in the centre of the Austrias district of Madrid, a typical Spanish aristocratic house dating back to the seventeenth century, on the ground floor of which there is currently a restaurant of the same name. It has seven dining rooms, particularly suitable for company meetings and family celebrations, where you can sample sirloin medallions in red wine with foie, amongst other specialities.

Without leaving the capital, a good option could be Teatriz, a restaurant serving creative food which is located in an old early century theatre. At the entrance there is a tapas bar, the tables are situated in what used to be the stalls and the stage is taken up by a bar. It also has a private room seating up to 60 people on the ground floor. Its specialities are beef carpaccio and lobster salad.

Also in Madrid is the Terraza del Casino restaurant, created as a place to meet and hold private get-togethers. It dates back to 1903 and has one of the citys most beautiful terraces on which you can sample good quality cooking. For the most demanding clients there is a tasting menu, which can be easily combined with some of the many kinds of tapas.

Traditional and designer cuisine
For several years, Bilbao has been home to the Etxanobe restaurant, located in the Euskalduna Palace, where Fernando Canales treats us to designer cuisine. At his restaurant it is possible to bring together up to 80 people. Not far away is the Guggenheim Bilbao restaurant, headed up by Martín Berasategi, which has a private dining room with room for up to 30 people, menus, tasting menus and special menus for groups, all set in an avant-garde atmosphere in keeping with the museums style.

Crossing the country we arrive in Seville, and in the city centre we find El Cabildo, a restaurant with two floors which has several different sized dining rooms, particularly suitable for conventions, incentives, conferences and tourist groups. Excellent Mediterranean and Andalusian dishes are prepared in its ovens.

Without leaving Andalusia, in Granada we find another noteworthy restaurant, Paco Martín. It serves traditional cuisine with creative touches and special emphasis on the gastronomy of Andalusia and Granada. It is situated in the citys old quarter and holds up to 225 people in a single dining room; it is particularly suitable for company meals and all kinds of celebrations.
