The Belgian company Dinner in the Sky has come up with a way of serving meals in the sky, at a height of between 40 and 50 metres, which has resulted in it being named as one of the most unusual and extravagant restaurants in the world by the prestigious magazine Forbes.
There are experiences to suit all tastes, although some are for the fearless, especially those which do not suffer from vertigo.
A Belgian company called Dinner in the Sky has decided to serve meals at a table measuring 9 metres by 5 metres, which rotates 180 degrees and is suspended 50 metres from the ground.
According to the description, the food is served in the air at a metal device where the diners sit comfortably; there is room for up to 22 people, who will be looked after by three chefs who will make it an unforgettable experience.
Given that they are in the air, the guests will be secured to their seat using a safety belt like those found in aeroplanes or on fairground rides. This idea combines eating with the sensations experienced in a theme park.
In the middle of the table there is a bar where the chef and waiter do their work and place the dishes.
Almost 8000 euros
This is a treat affordable to only a few people, because the outing will cost around 8000 euros for 8 hours. The price includes the table and crane hire, the cost of the food and waiters’ wages is separate. However, the expense may be justified by doing something different and surprising the guests. It is also possible to reserve the table and crane for a shorter period, thus reducing the cost and making it more affordable to those who wish to eat faster.
In this way, the user can eat with the added value of enjoying the scenery and the place they wish. They will choose the location in which they can have a good time, since they can choose to eat in the mountains, on the beach or beside emblematic buildings such as the Guggenheim in Bilbao, the Giralda in Seville or the Kio Towers in Madrid.
You can choose anywhere so long as you apply for the associated licence, which has led Dinner in the Sky to be selected by the prestigious business publication Forbes as one of the ten most unusual restaurants in the world, what it does not guarantee is good digestion or that you won’t have an anxiety attack due to the height, as such before going for this option you must be sure that you do not suffer from vertigo.
